What is OHS Essentials?
The OHS Essentials program provides free, confidential and personalised advice to keep your workers safe.
Over 12 months, an independent health and safety consultant will work closely with you to improve your workplace safety.
Over three sessions, your consultant will develop a practical and personalised action plan for you.
The plan will outline the safety hazards identified and how to minimise the risks. It is designed for you to keep and continuously adapt over time.

Discussions and recommendations made by the consultants are completely confidential.

Participating in the program is free.

Y our initial session will take up to three hours, and any follow-up visits may take approximately two to three hours.

During a visit, your OHS consultant will explain your employer obligations under Victorian health and safety laws, and help you identify safety hazards and risks for your business.

If you are a:
1. Small or medium business
Small and medium businesses (60 workers or fewer) with a WorkCover insurance policy.
2. Sole trader with contractors
Sole traders with contractors may be eligible.
3. Victorian farmer
As part of WorkSafe’s commitment to workplace safety in the agriculture industry, all Victorian farmers can apply for the program.
